La Sportiva Miura

The La Sportiva Miura is the classic, ultimate all-round performance climbing shoe, perfect for climbers operating in the mid to high grades.

Born in 1997 the Miura continues to be a very popular climbing shoe to this day, which is saying a lot as very few climbing shoes are in production for this amount of time. This popularity stems from the shoes tension and its edging capabilities, making for a technical shoe that is best suited for climbing on small edges and pockets, such as those found on limestone, granite and volcanic rock.

What about the shoes tension? The rubber rand that stretches around the shoe is highly tensioned, and is linked into the “Powerhinge” on the sole. When you put weight through your foot on a small edge any flex is contained to the rear of the shoe whilst the front of the shoe is kept in place, giving you a great deal of trust and support when on that small edge.

What about the rubber? The sole is made from Vibram XS edge. As the name would suggest this is a rubber that is great for edging, as compared to other rubbers it has a greater resistance to deformation over repeated uses.

Anything else? The multi-paneled lining gives you the perfect fit and the speed lacing system laces up in a cinch.

The Miura are an absolute classic in the La Sportiva Climbing Shoe range and are a great choice for intermediate and high level climbers, looking for a stiff, versatile technical climbing shoe.
