La Sportiva’s Katana women’s is a climber’s dream, evolved for even greater precision and performance. With its moderately technical shape, the La Sportiva Katana is truly a master of all trades. While this shape may be intimidating to beginners, more experienced climbers used to donning rock boots may be able to put on the Katanas over extended periods comfortably. There’s a hint of downturn and supremacy in edging, making the Katana an ideal pick for all sorts of climbs – except possibly the most vertical of them.

New Midsole: La Sportiva has implemented their patented P3 construction system which allows the shoe to hold and maintain its slightly downturned shape over the lifetime of the shoe. This means you will always have that out-of-the-box, push-power performance for years to come.

Crafted of leather and synthetic materials to maximize comfort, and with opposed closure straps for an optimal snug fit, the Katana caters particularly to climbers with a more slender foot shape. For those interested in some technical details, it is the prehensile area in the midsole that provides a slightly downturned shape and gives stability to the shoe. The Vibram XS Edge sole is one of the compounds used by La Sportiva on their climbing shoe soles, this XS Edge is best on edges as the name suggests, as it reduces deformation when standing on small edges, plus it has the bonus of being quite durable.
